5 SUPER EASY PRODUCTIVITY TIPS #obviously
You probably already know this... but you're distracted and lack focus. It's ok, so am I. 20% of our effort results in 80% of our results, so what are we wasting our time on? Here are some tips can help you focus and remove distractions.
1) DUMP YOUR PHONE ************** UNLESS YOU'RE USING IT TO ACCOMPLISH YOUR MAIN OBJECTIVE, DUMP THAT STUPID DEVICE
If you can't turn off your phone or put it in a sealed case, locked in a safe, thrown in a volcano, then simply turn off all notifications. Check notifications once in the morning if you must (don't worry I'm addicted as well), once at noon and then once in the evening. Batch it out, don't react to the fragmented torrent storms, it's seriously damaging your brain and wasting your time, no doubt and you know this.
2) THE CHOSEN ONE
Write out a top ten list of actions you need to accomplish this week. Dump all of them except one, and do that right now.
3) SAY NO
You can't do it all, you don't need to go to every event and you don't need to check your social media channel. It's all a waste of time if you've got something pressing you need to do. Once you've completed your task, you'll enjoy the pleasures of leisure with greater joy and zero guilt.
4) BROADCAST IT
Try writing your task in large font with a sharpie and place that paper on your desk, or a post-it note, you get the point. Once you're done, crumple up that piece of paper and toss it (recycle it). To all those people who don't want to waste paper - which is a noble cause... re use scrap paper.
Once your done with the task, take a look at the pile of scrap paper, that's a tangible representation of what you've accomplished. Tangibility is so powerful in this abstract digital working world. Some days you may feel like what the heck was accomplished because it's all within your monitor and doesn't exist outside of computer code.
5) STAY WOKE
Realize that you will never get everything done. The mission to do everything is a doomed one from the get go. Mainly because we're all delusional in our thinking with our lust for more. With the constant exposure to what we think are madly productive influencers and thought leaders, friends and family on social media, it's easy to feel defeated... don't worry, it's all false advertising. Everyone isn't getting everything done. Not even Mr. Musk... he has 1000's of people helping him, you just have you.
So give yourself a break and be human. Focus on one thing at a time. Complete it, and move on to the next, forget the BS, remember to cut out 80% of the junk.
It's obvious I know, but then why aren't we doing it?
